Technical Secretariat of the Eixample District Intercultural Action Plan (PAID)

Barcelona City Council

Challenge

In 2022, the Eixample District decided to promote the elaboration of the Intercultural District Action Plan (PAID), recognizing it as a political priority. For the dynamization of these spaces, the PAID foresees the creation of a Technical Secretariat, whose objective is to convene, dynamize and promote the functioning of the plan’s governance, in order to:

  • streamline the deployment of the PAID;
  • provide specific expertise on interculturalism, non-discrimination and mainstreaming of public policies, which can facilitate the proper deployment of the plan.

Response

Spora carries out the integral coordination of the PAID governance and work spaces, including the convening and dynamization of the sessions of the Motor Group and the Intercultural Action Group. This has involved the methodological and content design of the sessions, the management of technical resources to ensure smooth and collaborative communication, as well as the systematization, organization and dissemination of the information generated. We have also organized workshops for the exchange of experiences among District services, prepared follow-up reports, annual reports and communication materials, promoting the mainstreaming of interculturality through an annual work plan and the monitoring and evaluation of the process.
