Challenge
The aging of the population is one of the main current social and demographic challenges, and Cambrils is no exception. After the diagnosis prepared in 2023, the Cambrils City Council detected the need to have a strategic framework that would allow municipal actions on aging to be guided in a coordinated, participatory and adapted way to the local reality.
The objective was to establish a roadmap that would respond to the challenges linked to personal autonomy, care, health, housing, community participation and unwanted loneliness, guaranteeing the rights and well-being of older people.
Response
Spora has developed the Cambrils Ageing Plan 2025-2030, a strategic tool that defines the municipal lines of action for the coming years from a preventive, community and rights-focused perspective.
Based on the results of the diagnosis, intervention priorities have been identified, a resource map has been developed and work has been done with the technical team and agents in the territory to define the objectives and priority actions.
The Plan defines strategic lines to improve coordination between agents, optimize existing resources and promote citizen participation in the construction of a municipality for all ages. At the same time, it promotes citizen involvement —especially of the elderly— to move towards a more friendly, healthy Cambrils and committed to dignified and active aging.
